One County
Many Voices

The formation of groups like the Northumberland Diverse People Coalition is a testament to the growing recognition of the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within communities. Such coalitions aim to proactively engage with social and educational networks to foster environments where all members feel valued, respected, and have equal access to opportunities.

By focusing on lifting communities and individuals, these organizations contribute to creating more cohesive and supportive environments. They often work on various initiatives, such as hosting community events, providing educational resources, and advocating for policy changes that promote inclusivity.

The emphasis on DEI also acknowledges the variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences that enrich communities. By welcoming and embracing this diversity, coalitions like the Northumberland Diverse People Coalition help build resilience, innovation, and communal strength.

Engaging in such proactive efforts can lead to positive change and growth, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to contribute to and benefit from the prosperity of their community.

Our Mission

The NCPC calls on us all to value ourselves and one another by respecting and celebrating our unique cultures, identities, contributions, and lived experiences. We seek to engage all members of the community to help create a Northumberland County that elevates diverse voices and experiences, so all members of the community feel valued, respected, and have equal access to opportunities.

Statement of Service

The Northumberland Diverse People Coalition is committed to providing services that align with the requirements of the
Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and uphold the principles of dignity, independence, integration, and equal opportunity for individuals with disabilities. We are dedicated to ensuring accessibility in our programs, events, and communications, while respecting the privacy and confidentiality of all participants.

Please note that while we strive to accommodate diverse needs, services may be limited or subject to a fee if they fall beyond the scope of our standard offerings.

Additional services, such as sign language interpretation or transcripts in Braille, may incur charges from private providers.
We are committed to facilitating access to these services and supporting individuals with disabilities in their participation and engagement within our organization.

At the Northumberland Diverse People Coalition, we value inclusivity and fairness, and we are continuously working to enhance our accessibility practices to better serve our community members. Your feedback and input are essential in helping us improve our services and ensure that everyone has equal opportunities to participate and benefit from our initiatives.
